Historical Photos on Display

We have a large number of high quality framed historical photos of notable people and places concerning the Chermside & Districts area. These photos have been displayed at the Chermside, Zillmere & Banyo (pictured) libraries, as well as at the Kedron-Wavell RSL.

Chermside Tram Memorial

The Chermside Tram Memorial was unveiled on Friday, June 6th. This was a collaborative effort between Westfield, Brisbane City Council and CDHS. The memorial consists of a sign detailing the history of the tram line that reached Chermside in 1947, along with a piece of the original tram track that was unearthed on Gympie Rd in 2012.

First World War Talk at Chermside Library

On the 24th of April CDHS archivist Beverley Isdale presented a talk on the people from the Chermside area who were involved in the First World War. Beverley has uncovered a large amount of information concerning Chermside's inhabitants and their military connections. The talk was very well received by a large audience.
