What we do

Every member of the Society is trying to record and collect anecdotes, local family histories, copies of old photos and anything of historical value at all, to place in our archives.

Members have the opportunity to present their research at monthly meetings if they so choose, and guest speakers are invited to many meetings.

The Society has attended and contributed to the naming of local sites such as Herrmann Place, John Patterson Park, Victor Greening Park, Dead Man's Gully Park and McBride Park.

Activities of the Society have included the research and restoration of the memorial gates at Marchant Park, a family history of the Hamilton Family has been written and a history of the Chermside State Primary School.

How you can help

Historical contributions can be forwarded to the Society at any time by phoning Beverley on 3350 2874 or writing to The Archivist, P.O. Box 416, Chermside South 4032.

If sending photos, please ensure that these are "copies only". Anecdotes of earlier times relating to the any of the Districts listed overleaf are most welcome.

You do not need to be a member to contribute to the history of your area. Please feel welcome to add your information or copies of photos, etc. Historical documentation and photos relating to our district can be donated to the society at any time and would be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to your visit.
